What is Single Supplement?
Single supplement is an amount payable by a person traveling as a single who buys a package that is priced on a TWIN-SHARE or QUAD-SHARE basis.
Twin-share: The accommodation price is split between 2 people; Quad share: the accommodation price is split between 4 people.
If you are traveling as a single you would select the Twin-share voucher purchase option, but because the accommodation price based on 2 people sharing the room or apartment, you need to make up the difference.
Example for illustration purposes:
ABC resort package:
Twin share price: $499 per person
Flight provision per person: $200 (traveling from Sydney)
Accommodation component per person: $299
(Total $499)
$299 x 2 (twin-share) = $598 total for the hotel room or apartment
If you are traveling as a single you would buy the $499 twin-share voucher but then you must make up the difference for the accommodation being $299. That amount is called a "single supplement".
When you place your booking you would pay the single supplement at that time. If you choose a Quad-share option by mistake then you will be required to make up the difference for the accommodation component.
